Do You Know Jesus-Day 3

Two-Sided Effort

In order to know someone, you have to have a relationship with them and as I told you in Day 2, it is a two-sided effort.  When only one person is working on a relationship then there isn’t one.  The same is true with Jesus.  He is pursuing you and has been pursuing you.  In order to have a relationship with Jesus, then you have to know who He is, what He did, and why He did it.  Once you know all this, then you must believe it and trust in it.

Info You Need

Here’s the information you need in order to know Jesus and form a relationship with Him.  This is how you start pursuing Him.

  1. Acknowledge that you are a sinner; you were born a sinner.

“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” –Romans 3:23

  1. Understand that sin is evil and it requires a punishment.

“For the wages of sin is death’ but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” –Romans 6:23

  1. Realize that Christ took your punishment and died on the Cross for your sins

For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit –I Peter 3:18

  1. Know and trust in your heart that you have been saved from the punishment of your sins,  by believing who the Lord Jesus Christ is and what the Lord Jesus Christ did.

“He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation.  For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him.   And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together.   And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent.   For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell,”- Colossians 1:15-19

And having been made perfect, He became to all those who obey Him the source of eternal salvation.” -Hebrews 5:9

That if you confess with your mouth Jesus {as} Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved.”- Romans 10:9

It’s Done!

Once you have done this and once you believe it, then from that day forward, you have a relationship with Him.  There is a way to know whether or not you are in this relationship.  Come back for Day 4 and I spell it all out!
